Conditions Treated in Level 2 Urgent Care
If your condition or illness typically requires a simple laboratory workup such as a urine test to accurately diagnose, it will likely be evaluated in Level 2 urgent care. Some common examples of Level 2 care include the following:
- Urinary tract infection. A urinary tract infection, or UTI, can develop if certain types of bacteria are introduced to the urethra. Symptoms of this common condition include a sensation of burning during urination, a frequent urge to urinate, cloudy urine, and pain in the lower abdomen. A UTI can be effectively treated with a complete series of antibiotics, but it will first require an evaluation from a doctor and a proper diagnosis.
- Influenza. The flu is a highly contagious viral infection. Common symptoms include fever, body aches, sore throat, runny nose and coughing. If one or more of these symptoms develops rapidly, it could signify influenza. After our doctor diagnoses your illness as the flu, we will provide you with the appropriate medication.
- Vomiting/Diarrhea. Vomiting and diarrhea can be caused by a number of different factors. Infections, illnesses, ulcers and food poisoning can all lead to frequent vomiting and/or diarrhea over the course of the next few days. Persistent vomiting or diarrhea can signify an underlying illness, so it is wise to seek treatment for either condition if they do not resolve themselves within one or two days.
